While you wait

Four things to do before the crew arrives

Stay off the roof. Wet membrane is slick, and soft spots can hide a failed deck.

  • Cut power near the water

Shut off breakers for lights or equipment under the leak if it is safe to reach the panel.

  • Move what you can

Pull inventory, files and equipment out of the drip line. Cover what you cannot move.

  • Catch the water

Buckets and absorbent pads under each drip. Note the column line or grid location.

  • Take photos and video

The ceiling, the floor and anything damaged. Your insurer will ask, and so will we.
